The Voliere is located on the Oosterduinsemeer. More popularly known as ‘Lake Como’. In the 1950s and 1960s, the lake was created by the excavation of the former Oosterduinen. Over the years, it has become home to various plumages in every size, anglers, bird watchers and anyone who wants to enjoy this official bathing site. Explore the lake by sup, canoe or boat and be seduced by this oasis of calm.
When love is in the air, he is only too happy to dock at the Volière. He will feast his eyes as new couples prepare to leave the pond as a fresh pair. And when love big or small is celebrated; the lovebird elegantly spreads its wings again to send this message out into the world.

Nothing should be lacking on a day like this, which is why we are happy to think along with you to make it an unforgettable memory. When the weather is nice, you will fall for the Buitenplaats, located in the middle of the greenery and overlooking the lake. The ideal place for the ceremony, drinks and dinner. But don’t panic if the weather gods are not with you on the big day, as we have the Kas at your disposal. Here you can enjoy the same view from inside and it is exactly as romantic and cosy.
The Voliere is situated in a unique location in the middle of nature. The surroundings lend themselves well to various trips. Think Keukenhof during the bulb season, the beach or the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes.
Around the lake you will enjoy a nice beach where various activities are possible. Enjoy sunbathing or swimming. Hire a sup, canoe or pedal boat. Hop on a tandem or E-scooter and explore the area. Plenty to do!
Throughout the year, various events are organised at the Oosterduinsemer. For example, the month of April is all about tulips and other flowers during Full Bloom. Then visit Beers & Tulips, where you can get a tasty beer from various breweries in a flower-decorated setting. In summer, the annual music event Loungefest takes place. More info will follow in the run-up to these events.
